About
Jennifer Tan is a writer from Queens, New York. Her work appears in Asian American Writers' Workshop Open City Magazine, The Seventh Wave, and Newtown Literary. She was the prose runner-up in Brutal Nation, The Blueshift Journal's Prizes for Writers of Color, judged by Jeffery Renard Allen. Jennifer has received residencies or fellowships from Atlantic Center for the Arts, Vermont Studio Center, and VONA/Voices, and was selected as a 2016 Willow Arts Fellow. She was a scholarship recipient to Hedgebrook Vortext 2016 and 2017. Jennifer holds a BA in English from Brown University and is currently working on a novel about four friends who come of age in Queens, NY, where she grew up and which often serves as a backdrop in her writing.
